I went from an older Electra Glide to this one, and it IS bigger. And what a difference in power. If you like the 1500, you will love the 2000.

Most bikes would be about 15V at 5000 rpm, but you need to find the specs for your bike. It could be that the meter is off, though. You might want to check the voltage and the connection points with a multimeter to compare.Bandit101. If the 100 ohm resister at the ignition switch was bad or removed, it still would not prevent power from going to the ignition and lights. It just reduces voltage to the igniter to turn it on. O.K. been riding since 1959 and have had everything going and some no longer going so I know all bikes have their own 'quirks'. I need to downsize from my C-90 at my age (knees are shot, back spasms etc). Really like the looks and feel of the 900. But one of main reasons not to go Suzuki again is their p*ssy electrical system.Check for oil around the spark plug cavity and then explore this further. On the 1500, the service manul says a special tool is need to pull the spark plug tubes, but you can fashion a tool out of the rear axle nut and unscrew the tube. I'd bet the 800 is similar. After engagement of gears as soon as I let the clutch out she didn't want to go and cut oooot. So after removing the Clutch Lever switch aka the Bullshit Switch and putting a loop into the contacts she was fine. Either but a new switch or do what I did. .
