The deck it self could be bent or the spindles but I think you have 36 inch blades. I really doubt the blades are the wrong ones. The Cub 33" takes a specific blade. I used to be a Cub dealer and know that mower well. It is the old Troy-Bilt 33" mulching mower, cheapened up. I think you made the right decision.
